Shoot the James
A photographic salute to Richmond's James River

From March 6 through March 29, 2009, art 6 will host "Shoot the James", a photographic exhibition exploring and celebrating the James River as it flows through Richmond, Virginia. This invitational exhibit will feature both still and video images by 18 Richmond artists.

"Shoot the James" features a wide selection of original work, including portraits by Thomas Daniel from his book series "People of the James" (left), video images by Georgianne Stinnett, the seminal landscapes of John Henley, and fauna subjects by wildlife photographer Lynda Richardson and biologist Anne Wright. From dragonflies to industrial artifacts, riverscapes to recreational portraits, this exhibition will focus on all manner of river-related subjects.

Proceeds from catalog sales will benefit the James River Outdoor Coalition.
