Exhibition proposals

art6 is currently accepting applications for spring 2010. Please fill out the exhibition proposal application if you would like to apply for an exhibition. This form is also available in Word format. Once the Exhibition Committee reviews applications, you will be notified by mail.

Applicants may indicate suggested co-exhibitors, if any, with whom they would like to share the same month and may indicate preferred gallery, but the final decision will rest with the Exhibition Committee.

Proposals for large multi-artist, thematic, and/or installation projects should also include the following information:

• Complete description of the project. Include the nature of the activity (installation, juried show, etc.), how it relates to the mission of art6, and community benefits.
• List of participating artists, images of their work, and resumes
• List of other co-sponsors, if any, and how they are involved in the planning and/or financing of the project
• Budget for the project and expected funding sources
• Timeline for the project (including start and end dates)

The committee will not accept a proposal for a body of work that has already been exhibited in Richmond or the Greater Metropolitan Area. Proposals must be for new work or work new to this area.

Proposals must accurately reflect the nature of the works to be presented in the show. If a proposal is accepted and works brought to the gallery for hanging prior to the show are not consistent with the nature and quality of works presented in the proposal, art6 reserves the right to cancel the show.
